In Bedford, there are an abundance of upcoming musicians and low-cost music venues, perfect for students on a budget, looking to kill time or unwind this Easter Break.
Tribute Acts: Bedford Esquires (60A Bromham Rd)
Many of you will have heard of the small yet popular venue Bedford Esquires, very close to our Sixth Form. A site of amazing Tribute acts, spanning a huge variety of genres, from ‘rock to electronica, metal to jazz, hip-hop to folk’; there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Usually, there are gigs Wednesday to Sunday nights, and tickets are generally relatively cheap. Some upcoming highlights of April:

Whitney-Queen of the Night: The Corn Exchange (St Pauls Square)
The Corn Exchange in Bedford is a brilliant centre of live music and performance, and Whitney-Queen of the Night is fresh off the West End, a must-see for lovers of 80s music or Musical Theatre. This musical celebrates the life and works of the pop and R&B star, collating three decades of her hits into two and a half dazzling hours. This show has been praised for its impressive live band and extremely talented cast.

Chris Cleverley- Secret Verses Tour: The Place Theatre (Bradgate Rd)
The Place is another small venue to keep your eye on if you’re looking for live entertainment in Bedford. Chris Cleverley is a rising star, a dream-folk, acoustic, singer-songwriter, named FATEA’s ‘Male Artist of the Year’ for 2023. This is one of the six dates in the mini tour of his revered new album, released in November of last year.
